PB&J: The Layers of Success
This exhibition explores the concept and definition of success, tracing its roots from humble beginnings. Viewers are challenged to consider how, in a world often dominated by "more is more" mentality, the gap between opportunity and success has become increasingly insurmountable for many. Offering a statement to the inequity of resources and opportunity availability for marginalized groups that can make the pursuit of success feel out of reach.
Humble beginnings often lay the foundation for great success, reminding us that real change in a ‘more is more’ culture comes from valuing substance over excess.
Fabricated from unconventional materials, 168 slices of white bread, peanut butter, and strawberry jam, were used to create the installation. Which was mounted onto a plywood frame and sealed to preserve the work. PB & J sandwiches were also available as appetizers for the show attendees.
